prudhoe bay
history
In 1826, Sir John Franklin named Prudhoe Bay after his classmate Captain Algemon Percy, Baron Prudhoe. Today, it is the northernmost point of the Pan-American Highway and is most known for its many scattered oil fields. Tourists can come see the flat tundra of Prudhoe Bay after riding a tourist bus for two-days along the Dalton Highway from Fairbanks.
